R.E.P.O. Loot Item
Animal Crate
The Animal Crate is one of the most valuable objects in Headman Manor and one of the most dangerous, because it punishes you for laying it down and explodes when it finally breaks.

What it is
A wide wooden crate worth $18,000 to $25,000 with an arrow stencilled on it showing which way is up. Whatever is inside is never revealed. If the crate is not upright, or if it takes damage, it starts shaking, making noise across a 17.5-unit radius, damaging itself and drawing monsters to your position. When it finally breaks it detonates for 300 damage to monsters and 50 to a semibot.
Handling it
Keep the arrow pointing at the ceiling, always. That single rule is the whole item: an upright crate is inert, a tipped crate is an alarm that is also destroying your payout. Its mass of 4 puts it above the no-upgrade threshold, so plan on a partner or a strength upgrade before you start moving it. The explosion is worth remembering as a last resort — 300 damage kills everything in the game except Cleanup Crew, Trudge, Loom and Elsa — but you lose the whole $18,000 doing it.
REPODLE hints
A Wide item at $18,000 narrows the field to five: Animal Crate, Dinosaur, Alchemy Station, Tray and Vinyl. Mass 4 removes the last two, and location leaves the Crate and Dinosaur alone in Headman Manor — where durability is the only remaining separator, since the Dinosaur is fragile and the Crate is not. Its mass of 4 is shared with fourteen items overall, so lead with size and value instead.
