What it is
Tiny, mass 0.5, worth $500 to $600, standard durability. No trap, no effect, impact damage 0/2/5/8. It is the base version of the Silver Fish at $900 and the Gold Fish at $1,200.
Handling it
The wiki explicitly names the Fish, alongside the Ocarina and the Goblet, as a small item worth throwing at monsters — it will take out a Spewer or an Upscream, and reach a Peeper if you can hit its top side. Since a Peeper has 30 health and cannot be stunned by anything, a thrown Fish is often faster than drawing a weapon. That trick expires at level 5, when small objects stop stunning enemies.
