Robe

Danger Level 3

The Robe is a Level 3 monster that stalks rather than chases. It moves slower than you walk, stays quiet while hunting, and kills in a single hit.

Behaviour

It roams until it spots a semibot, then begins stalking — moving slowly toward the target and ignoring everyone else. Look at it and it accelerates dramatically, hissing, raising its hands, and darkening the edges of your screen with a static flash. Look away and it drops back to a stalk. If it loses you it speeds up to search. Its attack claws in a short sweep for 100 damage and can hit several semibots at once. Against a target in a hiding spot it crouches and strikes for 50 damage instead, faster and with a stun. While idle it periodically cries like a child and raises its hands to its eyes — but tellingly, it does not cry while stalking.

How to survive it

It moves slower than your walking speed, so on open ground you are never actually caught unless you stop. The trap is that watching it makes it faster, so glance and move rather than staring. The absence of crying is a real signal — a silent Robe is a hunting Robe. Hiding spots are unsafe here, since its crouch attack is faster than its standing one.

REPODLE hints

Robe, Clown and Trudge all deal 100 damage with a strength breakpoint of 13 and a Large orb. Robe and Clown share 250 health as well, so weight is the separator: Heavy for the Robe against Very Heavy for the Clown. Headman shares Heavy and 250 health but only deals 50, so damage splits that pair.
