Danger Level 2The Mentalist is a Level 2 monster that lifts everything in a bubble around itself and then slams it into the floor. On its own it is tame; in a crowded room it gets people killed.

Behaviour
It floats silently around the level until it spots a semibot and gets close enough. Then it channels a purple aura that lifts any player, object or small monster caught inside. After a few seconds the aura turns red — nothing more can be picked up — and shortly after it slams everything down for significant physics damage. Grab or stun it during the channel and it is interrupted, releasing everything it held. Anything caught in the aura can also be pulled out from outside.
How to survive it
You can use weapons while in tumble, even inside the aura, so attacking mid-channel is a genuine escape route. Landing on a C.A.R.T., a Pocket C.A.R.T. or an extraction point negates the slam damage entirely, so dropping a Pocket C.A.R.T. under a lifted teammate is a clean save. Staying under a hiding spot where you cannot be lifted also nullifies the attack. With one or more speed upgrades you can bait the channel and slide out of the bubble before it closes, leaving it wide open. The real danger is never the Mentalist itself — it is being pinned in place while a Headman finds you.
REPODLE hints
Mentalist and Gambit are the only Level 2 monsters at 50 damage, and both are Heavy with a Medium orb and 150 health. The strength breakpoint is the entire difference: 4 for the Mentalist, 9 for the Gambit. Also note the Mentalist makes no sound while moving, which has no bearing on the puzzle but explains why so many players meet it by accident.
