Effect
Fires a powerful photon beam
What it does
Five charges. Each shot needs about a second of charge-up, then fires a beam that deals damage in six ticks of 45, for 270 total if the whole beam lands. It also applies heavy knockback, so physics damage regularly finishes what the beam starts.
How to use it
Fire it across a group rather than at one target — the beam keeps everything it touches immobilised while your team picks them apart. If a Huntsman is in the group, sweep it first: the discharge noise makes it aim at you, and starting there beats it to the draw. Two hundred and seventy damage plus physics kills most of the roster, but not reliably the four heavyweights — Cleanup Crew at 350, Trudge and Loom at 500, and Elsa at 600. Watch the charge-up: a fast monster can knock the shot out of your hands. Compared to the Shotgun it is the long-range option; the Shotgun wins inside a room.
