Behaviour
While docile it follows you and deliberately parks itself on your crosshair, jumping when you jump so it stays in view. That is bait. Grab it or damage it in any way and it grows a mouth full of teeth, becomes permanently aware of your position, and bites up to three times a second for about ten seconds. Hiding does nothing once it is enraged, because it always knows where you are. It flies, follows you over and under furniture, and can only stay airborne for thirty seconds before exhausting itself and dropping.
How to survive it
Do not pet the duck. If it is already angry, run — it loses interest quickly, and putting a room between you is usually enough. Because it tracks your cursor, you can steer it: look at a wall with a room behind it and it will drift that way, breaking line of sight for you. To kill it, a toilet flush or a Swiftbroom cauldron launches and stuns it for around fourteen seconds, which is plenty of time to slam it. An extraction point will crush it outright, and if it is far enough in, you even get paid for the orb.
REPODLE hints
The strength breakpoint is the giveaway. Only three monsters can never be picked up — Apex Predator, Elsa and Peeper — and of those three only the Duck combines it with Light weight and a Small orb. If Classic mode returns an impossible strength breakpoint alongside 10 damage, this is almost certainly your answer; Elsa hits for 30 and Peeper for 2.
