Effect
Moderate damage with good knockback
What it does
A plain wooden bat with ten swings in it. Each connecting hit deals 20 damage, stuns any monster regardless of weight class, and applies heavy knockback that adds a further 25 to 50 physics damage every time the target slams into something. That knockback is the whole point: the bat is one of very few weapons that reliably stuns the entire roster, so the follow-up is always available.
How to use it
Fight in cramped rooms with plenty of hard surfaces rather than in open halls — every wall, pillar and floor edge is extra damage you do not pay ammo for. Since v0.1.2.55 it no longer hits the wielder unless two or more players are holding it, so swinging next to a teammate is safe. Ten hits is not many, so open with the bat to secure the stun and let cheaper tools finish the job.
