Spewer

R.E.P.O. Monster

Spewer

Danger Level 1

The Spewer is a Level 1 monster that attaches itself to your face and then vomits at unpredictable intervals. It is more embarrassing than dangerous, unless you are carrying something.

Behaviour

It drifts chaotically around the map until it spots a semibot, then chases. If it reaches you it lunges and latches onto your face, briefly stunning you and staying attached for anywhere between ten and sixty seconds. While attached your voice drops in pitch and you periodically vomit, dealing 10 damage per hit to semibots and monsters alike, at completely random intervals. When it finally releases you it stuns you again and flees, then goes on cooldown. If it cannot latch on, or is on cooldown, it vomits at you from range instead for the same 10 damage.

How to survive it

If one latches on, do nothing and it does nothing — the damage only lands if the vomit hits something. The one rule that matters is not to pick up valuables while a Spewer is on your face, because the vomit will strike whatever you are holding, knock it away and damage it badly. If one is approaching, you can grab and repeatedly shove it away.

REPODLE hints

Sixty-five is the only monster health value in R.E.P.O. that is not a round multiple of ten, which makes it trivially memorable. Medium weight with a Small orb narrows the field to Spewer, Bella and Shadow Child, and the health column then separates all three instantly — 65, 200 and 150.
